Greece

Summer 2017 I had the chance to visit Greece and was beyond excited! One of my new friends from university was heading home for the summer and invited a few of us to come visit. Of course, I was grateful for the invite and jumped at the opportunity! Drowned in research and writing for my master’s dissertation, I was in need of some time to step away and this trip was the perfect chance. Plus, what history nerd doesn’t want to go and explore Greece!? On top of getting the chance to explore through archaeological sites and visit this beautiful country, I got the chance to learn about the culture, traditions, and language from a local. My friend and her family opened their home to us and it was an amazing experience! Our adventure took us to the archaeological sites of Ancient Olympia, Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, and the Acropolis. We strolled through the streets of Athens and had countless Greek dishes. It was an incredible 8 days!
I made it to the Acropolis!
